Instead of shelling out tens of thousands of dollars on a new home, you can make your current home look like new with some simple upgrades. Get the most bang for your buck by making little changes that offer a huge impact.
1. Paint a Room
Our favorite solution to give a room a whole new look is to paint it. Aside from just painting walls, we’ve refinished cabinet doors and cement floors to change one room into a whole new incarnation. View our portfolio to get inspired or find inspiration on our Pinterest!
2. Create Accent Walls
If you’re not in the mood to paint an entire room, consider painting one wall. Creating an accent wall, whether you paint it, add a mural, or even add fun shapes and colors to it will add visual interest and bring out your personality.
3. Add Flair to Your Floors
You don’t have to limit yourself to the walls—you can paint patterns on a floor to spruce up old wood into something completely different. Cement floors make the best canvas. Just be sure to prime accordingly before you paint.
4. Rearrange Your Furniture
This is especially helpful if you’ve created a new accent wall. Even if you didn’t, simply rearranging your furniture may create a more seamless floorplan that you prefer. Play around until you find something new that you like.
5. Swap Out Your Accessories
After a while, we get so used to our décor being where they are that they become a permanent fixture. Breathe life into your home décor by swapping them between rooms, even throw pillows. Move a large vase from one room to another and take something from your mantle into your kitchen. This not only gives your room a whole new aesthetic, but it’ll feel as if you’re looking at a room and its décor for the first time.
