“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit”- Aristotle.
As a boy, I was taught values: be a man of your word, do what you say you will, earn respect, command respect. These values weren’t just words or phrases in our household full of boys, they were learned through life lessons and sometimes through failure. These values have translated into the same core values of JQ Paint, Inc. We keep our word and do what we say whether it’s on a contract in print, or our word and a handshake. We earn respect by being respectful. We command respect by being experts and students in our industry.
As we’ve grown this business there are few things that have become more apparent than the fact that this is a “service” business and we are here to serve. In order to offer an unparalleled experience for our clients, we offer color consulting at no charge, for stain and special coatings (cabinetry and staircases) projects we prepare one of a kind samples and we offer digital renderings.
We don’t forget our roots. We have modernized our business and are able to do most things online. However, we realize there is no replacement for good old in person interaction. We started small and want to maintain the small business feel. In doing so, we can be more available to our employees and our clients. We keep business local so I can stop by any project anytime throughout the day just to pop in and say hello.
Building a business based on respect and old fashion values? Such a refreshing perspective that we all could use a little more of.
